The Hearth & Quill is a video podcast built around one simple idea: writers talking with writers.

Each episode features an in-depth, one-on-one conversation with an author about their books, their creative process, and the realities of the writing life.

Rather than a traditional promotional interview, The Hearth & Quill is about the conversation behind the book: where stories come from, how worlds and characters take shape, what writers learn along the way, and what it takes to bring a book into the world.

Topics may include storytelling, worldbuilding, character development, inspiration, publishing, marketing, the challenges of the writing life, and the lessons authors wish they'd known when they started.

Have a Book or Story to Share?

I'm always interested in meeting authors with an interesting book, creative journey, or perspective on writing.

Authors with upcoming or recent releases are especially welcome, and when scheduling allows, I may coordinate an interview around a book launch. However, you don't need a new release to be considered.

Each guest gets the opportunity to introduce their work while also having a broader conversation about writing, publishing, and the experiences that shaped them as an author.

I review every submission, though submitting an application does not guarantee an interview.

Who I'm Looking For

I'm particularly interested in authors who:

• Have a published or forthcoming book and something interesting to say about the craft or writing life

• Enjoy thoughtful, relaxed conversation rather than a tightly scripted interview

• Are comfortable participating in a recorded video interview

• Are willing to share the finished episode with their audience

Independent and traditionally published authors are both welcome.

The Hearth & Quill isn't about rapid-fire questions or simply pitching a book. It's a chance to sit down with another writer and talk about why we write, how we create, what we've learned, and the stories we choose to tell.
